Wild Tribe, Highlands: Founder

Iona Laing

Over the past 14 years Iona has worked with groups in the outdoors across the world. Most of this has involved leading groups of youngsters up gorges, down rivers and over many hills and bogs. A passionate outdoor educator and parent, she’s now focused on helping the next generation build confidence, skills, and a lasting connection to nature.

Iona has also worked in conservation, encouraging children to engage with British native species and their habitats. She has run events and celebrated young people’s talents, helping to inspire a love for the natural world and a sense of environmental responsibility.

Through Wild Tribe Highlands Iona will be offering fun, adventurous activities where children will learn to manage risk responsibly, respect others, and care for our natural spaces. Running sessions all year round in all weathers, participants will grow resilience, make new friendships, and develop the confidence to thrive — both outdoors and in everyday life.
